Two Years Later In Richmond Jan. 9th, 2006 @ 09:17 am
Well, I've been living here in Richmond or the area now for two years as of this past week. Somethings are just city issues you get used to, but this place really can push you to believe the worst about people. Living in Abingdon it was easy to think all kinds of people were good and just the few bad ones in the bunch made it on the news. You know like that one woman in the moo moo talking about how it was panderlium back in SWVA. Now to just be careful I find myself just going with the idea that everyone is bad news. Even the little old creepy lady in the parking lot of food lion last trying to hand out litrature about God approached me as I loaded my groceries last night, and all I really thought was--time to go this could turn into a car jacking. Richmond people aren't rude, they just don't want to die. Yep, so here comes granny and some pamphlets and I'm wondering where her just out of prison son and the gun are going to jump out from. What the hell is wrong with this place? New year's here wasn't even a happy occasion. A local family that really were the nicest people on earth and didn't have an enemy in the world were found murdered in their own home. The woman ran a toy store in Cary Town that I loved to go into and her and all the employees were SO nice. Not fake Richmond or retail nice, but truly nice people. OMG! They are still investigating the crime, but those creeps even killed the kids, two girls, 4 and 9 I think. I live in a city filled with monsters, deviants, low-life's, and junkies. I'll be moving to go to grad school somewhere this summer for the next five years, and at first I was sad about leaving, but now not so much.
